Sending private messages and/or confidential data over the web is something that gives privacy oriented users a big headache. Lockbin is here to address this situation. It will alleviate any headaches by password protecting and encrypting messages and files attached to messages. So if you care about privacy, if you want to securely send messages and files over the web, go ahead and give Lockbin a try.

There are several ways to get started with Lockbin: you can use Lockbin in your browser, on the official Lockbin webpage; you can get the Lockbin Java-based application and install it on your Windows, Mac, or Linux-powered machine; you can get the Lockbin app for Android; or you can get the Lockbin add-in for Microsoft Outlook.

To enjoy Lockbin’s functionality you will need to create an account. There are three types of accounts to choose from: Free, Premium. The functionality you get from Lockbin depends on the type of account you get. As you can imagine, the Free account has the least functionality to offer. Check out this page to see a detailed chart that compares these three types of accounts.

Lockbin works something like this. From your account, enter a recipient’s email address, enter a secret message, attach some files, and enter a password. When you’re done entering all this info, just send out your message. The recipient will receive an email notification with a link to your message – the message will be revealed only when the recipient enters the correct password.

Easily and securely send messages over the web with Lockbin.

Pros

Lockbin is available for multiple platforms: the web, Windows, Mac, Linux, Outlook. You can very easily create a Free account (there are three types of accounts to choose from). Lockbin has a simple interface. Use it to encrypt and password protect messages.

Cons

The Free account has the least amount of features to offer.
